Offering you reduced rate options to explore and help to educate you in a very important decision for your child, adolescent, teen, young adult, and family

Dore-Students-in-JapanSince 2001, Doré E. Frances, PhD, has worked in the advocacy, coaching, education and therapeutic fields. She has assisted over 20,000 families with valuable information and resources for their children, teens and young adults.

These are clients / families who have been struggling in ways that she personally knows and understands.

Dr. Frances has many families and professionals who speak openly about her services.

She has assisted them with addiction treatment programs, Christian based programs, clinical interventions, eating disorder programs, military schools, residential treatment centers, summer programs, therapeutic boarding schools, wilderness programs, and many other types of programs and schools.

Her doctorate’s degree is in Human Development with an emphasis in Diverse Families.

Dr. Frances has encountered thousands of children, adolescents, teens and young adults whose lives had been turned upside down because of adoption challenges, alcohol and drug abuse and addiction, bipolar disorder, clinical challenges, eating disorder challenges, family disruption challenges, impulse control disorders, learning challenges, mood disorders, oppositional disorders, psychological needs, reckless risk-taking behaviors, sexual inappropriate behaviors, and more.

Most struggles began during adolescence, however, Dr. Frances has also assisted those as young as age 8 and up into young adulthood.

Realizing that the lives of children, adolescents, teens and young adults can turn out differently with treatment she and a team of professionals decided to create a less expensive option to help families – Help For Troubled Teen.

When Doré E. Frances, PhD and her team founded Help For Troubled Teen, she wanted to offer reduced rate Educational Consulting services unlike any other around at less than half the cost of the more traditional Educational Consulting / Therapeutic Services.

These services are for families who are able to navigate the information we give me on their own with minimal support.

Julie Forland, M.Ed. is now providing this professional service.

She and her team had a vision that offered reduced rate comprehensive and effective services for program and school recommendations, one that still provided some limited one-on-one educational consulting support for families who are needing to make an out-of home placement.

The higher cost of full-time Educational Consulting services comes from a variety of areas, some of which include:

  • Additional time with family – anywhere from 2 hours to 4 hours per week – on average – during entire time on contract
  • Arranging or providing speciality testing when needed
  • Arranging and recommending parent coaching services
  • Arranging and recommending transport services when needed
  • Availability via cell, email and text after hours, nights and weekends
  • Bringing  firsthand knowledge of program and school options and opportunities to each family
  • Building families up towards reunification
  • Concierge Advocacy / Educational / Therapeutic Consulting Services available
  • Continuing hours of time to be available for each family they assist – days, holidays, nights, weekends
  • Family involvement in all program and school recommendations – No isolation from child in treatment
  • Following up with weekly / monthly parent calls while their child / young adult is in treatment
  • Following up with staff / therapists at the treatment program / school in order to support the teenagers treatment plan
  • Helping families with the at home transition plan
  • Helping – Not Hurting
  • Legal assistance as advocate for child or teen
  • Monthly travel to visit programs and schools for the evaluation process of them being on a recommended list for families
  • On going education and research – including international conferences
  • Protection of children in treatment settings – calls with child, teen, young adult while they are in treatment
  • Quality Assurance with experience of programs and schools
  • Quality Assurance with communication to staff of programs and schools when concerns arise
  • Recommendation of particular therapist within a program or school to meet your child’s specific needs
  • Researching of programs and schools to ensure nurturing and positive environments – Nothing punitive
  • Staying  abreast of constant changes in the fields of education and treatment along with new research available
  • Staying abreast of new program openings, program closings and industry wide news
  • Traveling to visit students in their various treatment programs and schools

The intention is – to provide healing opportunities for the family of the child, teenager or young adult by recommending the best and safest environments for this to unfold.

Dr. Frances and her team also understand that no two families are alike.

Desperate parents are at high risk of making rash and detrimental decisions in choosing a placement for their child, teen or young adult.

We assist your family in making the best placement decision for your child and not one that is done in haste where emotional and financial outcomes can be devastating. Please understand that these reduced services are not instant. We still need a day to review your information and two to three days for research to ensure we are supplying you with the best information to meet your needs.

This is not a quick fix one-size-fits all service.
